We study the particle-impact ionization of hydrogenic targets in the presence of a linearly polarized laser field. Two geometries are investigated in which the laser polarization vector is either parallel or perpendicular to the incident momentum of the projectile. The states of the projectile and the emitted electron are described, respectively, by a Volkov and a CoulombVolkov wave functions. The dressed state of target is modelled by a time-dependent perturbative wave function. Numerical results for the laser-modified double differential cross sections are reported and analyzed.
