Ultrafast laser-induced spin transfer between several spin centers on a carbon-based material and high addressability of a single spin center for an integrated logic processor
Abstract:
We investigate the ultrafast laser-induced spin-dynamics process on a carbon-based material, to which four magnetic centers are attached employing high-level quantum chemistry. We show that the CCSD method with the 631G basis set calculation is sensitive to the C-Ni bond length. Miscellaneous local spin-flip and spin-transfer processes are accomplished within the subpicosecond regime. We find that the local spin-flip scenarios are more sensitive to the magnetic field when double laser pulses with different δt are employed. The high addressability of a single spin center is achieved and a small distance less than the future CMOS scale (2nm ∼ 2024), between two identical Ni atoms is obtained. We suggest a model of an integrated spin-logic processor built from an array of individual spin-logic blocks.
